To The Unknown God Vocabulary

Many times, something as simple as not knowing the vocabulary in scripture can keep us from understanding the meaning.  Paul’s sermon to the Athenians in Acts 17 has quite a bit of difficult vocabulary.  This activity will help the student understand some of the more difficult words which will enable him to better appreciate the meaning of the sermon.

There are 12 vocabulary words in this activity: preappointed, inscription, ignorance, boundaries, dwell, Areopagus, religious, offspring, Divine Nature, grope, proclaim, habitation.

Each word is on its own pocket.  The pockets are simply the squares with vocabulary word on it glued down on 3 sides.  After laminating, cut the top of each pocket with an x-acto blade to form pocket.

The back of the folder has a pocket to hold the definition cards (which should be laminated to make them slide easier into the pockets) and the answers for the activity.

The student chooses a card and places it in the appropriate pocket.

When all cards are placed in their pockets, he can check his work with the answers on the back.

This activity was used while memorizing Paul’s sermon found in Acts 17. It was used while memorizing Paul’s sermon both in the classroom while studying the book of Acts and at home.
