Then Ezra opened the book in the sight of all the people, for he was standing above all the people; and when he opened it, all the people stood up. Then Ezra blessed the Lord, the great God. And all the people answered, “Amen, Amen!” with the raising of their hands; then they kneeled down and worshiped the Lord with their faces to the ground. Nehemiah 8:5-6
The People Stood Up
The people stood up To hear the Word of God;
As Ezra read the Book of the Law.
They shouted, “Amen!” And lifted up their hands;
As Ezra read the Book of the Law.
The people Kneeled down, Their faces to the ground;
As Ezra read the Book of the Law.
A wonderful day To worship their great God;
As Ezra read the Book of the Law.
