“That I will send a famine on the land,
Not a famine of bread, Nor a thirst for water,
But of hearing the words of the LORD.” Amos 8:11

A Famine of Words

Behold, the days are coming says the Lord, 
When I will send a famine on the land. 
There will be food for you to eat;  And water for you to drink; 
But you will hunger for the words of the Lord.

Four hundred years of silence from the Lord. 
It was a famine, a famine of words. 
They all were filled with food and drink; 
But it was worse than you think; 
For they were hungry for the words of the Lord.
