New Testament Songs

If you’ve already visited the Old Testament Songs page, you’ve probably read the 2 paragraphs below. If so, feel free to scroll on down to the songs. If not, read on:

The following are songs I have written to teach my Bible classes. For years I have used the traditional “Bible class” songs that we all grew up with. I became bored and wanted more to choose from but didn’t even think about writing my own. I was introduced to Glenda Schales’ children songs and loved them. I was one happy teacher. Glenda had written songs that taught the Bible, were easy to sing, and fun to sing. I was in awe of her ability. I attended a teacher’s training seminar in Houston, TX where she talked about a singing timeline. Now that was right up my alley — songs and timelines. Using her songs, I created my own version of a singing timeline. Then, one day, I was preparing a pre-school level class on Gideon. I searched through all of Glenda’s songs that I had and couldn’t find one for Gideon. I didn’t know what I was going to do. I wondered if I could write one. I gave it a try and the Gideon song listed below is the result. After that I was hooked. I began to write a song every month for my pre-school class. I appreciate Glenda’s talents and her willingness to share them with us and I appreciate how she has inspired me.

The songs below are specifically for the Old Testament. Other songs I’ve written can be found in the “songs” tab above. I have included the lyrics for each song plus a link to print the music out and an mp3 of me singing the song. I hope this method of sharing my songs will help you learn the songs easily whether you have music knowledge or not. I have been told that some have created CDs of these mp3s. That’s fine, just be warned that these are not professional quality and sometimes I sing a little out of tune. I won’t be held responsible for any headaches you may get from listening to them. :)
