The Tongue

One of our lessons while studying Proverbs we concentrated on various passages that talked about the tongue.  While preparing for the lesson, I kept envisioning an activity with a tongue sticking out.  This is the final result.  Jonathan, my 11 year old, enjoyed this because he got to draw the faces for me.  I’ve always wanted an artist at my fingertips to draw whatever I needed for class.  Maybe he will be the one.

Once the activity is put together, the student can pull the tongues out.  There are 8 little cards that describes various ways of using your tongue.  The student will decide if it describes a happy face or a mad face.  Then the student will glue the cards on the tongues they go with.

This activity can be used alone and sent home at the end of class or can be added to the Books of Poetry Project Folder.
