Proverbs 12:1

As with all the Proverbs, this is a good one — especially for young ones.  We had a lively discussion as I read the entire chapter to them.  They enjoyed talking about all the things that stop working as you get older.  The main thing I wanted them to remember from the reading what how important it is for them to follow God even as young children.  This activity, hopefully, is helping them remember that.

After discussing the chapter — especially the first verse — let them read the front of the booklet (if they’re able.  Open the booklet and they will see the words I Will Remember My Creator Now.  As they lift the flaps they will see an outline drawing of a body.  The students get to decorate the body to look like themselves.  As we worked on this in class, they were very meticulous about making sure the drawing had the same hair style, clothes, and shoes they were wearing that day.

This activity makes a great take home but can also be put in the Books of Poetry Project Folder.

I just started back at the creation this past Sunday and so this will make the perfect activity for this Sunday’s class. Keep the ideas coming!
