God’s House Then and Now

While studying God’s Prophets in The New Living Bible Lessons (lesson 4), we used this activity that contrasts God’s house of the Old Testament, the temple and God’s house of the New Testament, the church. It works well as a review after discussing the importance, who built it, who was part of it, etc. of the temple and the same features of the church. The students will decide which one the descriptions fit and put them in the appropriate pocket. Before giving the activity to the students, I did it with them on the bulletin board using the same descriptions written on larger cards. This works well with younger children or those who struggle to read.

As with the Old Law/New Law activity, due to computer issues I had to rework the pdf. Your activity will look slightly different than the one pictured below. I think you’ll probably like it better.

God’s House Then and Now PDF

God's House Then and Now
Print PDF on regular copy paper.

 God's House Then and Now
Cut the descriptions strips apart. Fold and glue on lines to make pockets.

God's House Then and Now
Let students read each description and determine if it describes the temple or the church.

This activity can be sent home at the end of class or glued into the project folder found here: God’s Prophets Project Folder

Thank you for sharing,we are not there right now in our study but will be soon. I had been thinking of ways to present this lesson. You took care of it. God bless and keep you.
