The transfiguration of Jesus is a fascinating story. Just imagine being Peter or James or John and witnessing the brilliant change in Jesus’ features. Then to see Moses and Elijah standing in front of you talking with Jesus. What an awesome, life-changing event.
This activity encourages the student to read the passage from Matthew about the transfiguration. It then depends on the student’s memory of past Bible study of Moses and Elijah.
The activity is actually 3 separate puzzles. There are pictures one side of the cards found in the storage envelope.
There are statements about Jesus, Moses or Elijah on the other side of the cards.
The students should read the card and decide who it is talking about creating 3 stacks of cards — one for each person.
Turn the cards over and put the puzzle together. It will be obvious very quickly if the cards were put in the correct pile. The pictures came from the Beginner’s Bible Cards but any picture representing these three men would work great.
