Flannel Graph Cheat Sheets

Betty Lukens has some beautiful felts to aid in teaching children about the Bible. The only problem with them is how tedious it is to organize them for your lesson. I have used the guide book that comes with the felts but I found them too detailed and small for my liking. One Saturday night, while preparing for the following morning’s Bible class I came across a solution. After preparing a flannel graph scene to my liking, I took a picture of it. I then created a “cheat sheet” that included the picture of the scene, a list of pieces used and a very brief summary of the story pictured. It worked really well by not only reducing the time it took to prepare for the lesson but made it easy to switch from one scene to another. The following pictures are examples of the cheat sheets. They are not that difficult to create but so you don’t have to “reinvent the wheel”, so to speak, I have included PDFs of the ones I have made. Scroll down to see what I have available.

Feel free to print these PDFs for your personal use. If you want to share them with others online, please do not just share the PDF link but send them back to this page.

I am doing a lesson with 4-6 yrs old. It’s a Christian little bugs day camp and was wanting short lessons from fall of man to resurrection. I only have 25 minutes for my lessons. Any suggestions? I loved what you did with the cheat sheets!I wanted to use story 4,97,106,110,138,178,181. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. God bless you for all your doing!

Do you have other PDF cheat sheets available? If not, I will try to use your idea as a template and expand my library. I really appreciate these that you have provided. Thank you!

Thank you! I recently joined a new church and they have the Betty Lukens Flannel graph. I brought it home and there is so many pieces, I don’t know where to start, someone else has cut everything apart and am grateful for your directions! Thanks Diane King

I have been wanting to do this for a few years. I, along with my church, purchased the Betty Lukens Flannel Set and found it too detailed for the age group I teach. I hope after seeing yours, I will be inspired to get busy working on mine.

Thank you sooooo much! We use the Betty Lukens with our class and I’ve made a file for each lesson as we have taught it to capture what we did. I can place these in the file for next time. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
